Setting up your account

If you're signing up as an Affiliate (free 2MB web site, plus $20 over & over), go to
Personal Web Sites, then click "Sign Me Up Now."

You'll be asked to enter

  1. Your chosen account name (this will be used as part of your web site URL - http://mysiteinc.com/yourname).
  2. Your email address - this must be valid, as your password and instructions for logging into your account manager will be emailed to this address.
  3. Your name, address, telephone - we need these so that we can send you your earned commissions on those who sign up as Associates who have come through your site.


You'll also be required to check the "
I Agree" box, which indicates you've read and accepted the Terms and Conditions of our Rules and Guidelines. (Make sure you check this box, or you'll have to go back and resubmit.)

Once you've clicked "Join Now," your account will be set up and an email will be sent to you immediately with your password and an URL that takes you to the account manager login, where you can upload and modify your files.

If you're joining us as an Associate member (10MB web site, POP3 email, secure form, free classified ad posting access, plus big time commission), go to
Opportunity, then click "Sign Me Up Now."

On the next page, click the "I Agree" button, indicating you've read and accepted the terms and conditions of our
Rules and Guidelines. Next you'll go to a secure order form which you'll need to complete. Once you submit it, you'll be signed up as an Associate!

 
Installing Pages On Your Site

Once you receive your email containing your password, you can log into your account manager, where you can edit, create, and upload files.

A temporary index.html (home page) file is created for you when you sign up. You can view this page by going to http://mysiteinc.com/yourname. If you check the box next to this file in your account manager and click Edit File, you will see the HTML code for this page and be able to edit it. Note: Your home page for your site must always be named "index.html" or you won't be able to access your site with your main web site address. Also, your web page files must end with ".html" and not ".htm".

You can also create a file on your local computer using HTML-generating software (such as Netscape Composer, which is included with Netscape Communicator) and upload it directly to your site using this same account manager page.

When creating your files, you can link to other pages in your directory by calling the link location as the file name of the page you are linking to. So if you're creating your home page, and have a "products.html" page you'll also be installing, on your home page you'll create a link that goes to simply "products.html". If you want to link to a page elsewhere on the internet, you'll need to use the full internet address as the hyperlink. For example, if you wanted to link to the Yahoo internet directory, you'd create a link that goes to "http://www.yahoo.com".

Additionally, file names are case sensitive. That means if you name a file with a capital letter or letters in it, make sure you are matching any links to that page with the same capital letter(s). However, it's highly recommended you use all lower case letters in your file names.

To upload your files, click one of the Browse buttons (or more than one for multiple files) to browse the files on your hard drive. Select the files you want to upload, then... click on "Upload these files."

If you create a new home page this way, you can simply upload your new version, and it will overwrite the temporary home page (make sure you name it "index.html").

Graphic files can be uploaded the same way.

If you are familiar with raw HTML code, you can click on Create New File and enter code for any new pages directly.
